MEET
THE TEAM
Justin Makin
Founder, Executive Director

Justin is the founder of Alpine Treatment Services. He graduated
with his Bachelors Degree in Technology Management, and has worked
within the field of addiction recovery for over ten years; his
tireless leadership and vision have enabled the program to develop
into what it is today. Justin saw a need for a more effective approach
to drug and alcohol rehabilitation with an LDS values based influence
at the core of the Program; thus Alpine Treatment Serviceswas born.
“Treating someone for 30 days and then sending then home just
doesn’t work. It was disheartening to see families work together
to find funding for their loved one only to see their efforts be
in vain. I realized that learning something and practicing something
are fundamentally different. It has been my main goal to develop
a program that assists individuals and families not only cope and
become educated about addiction, but also have a system in place
that allows everyone to feel comfortable with the transition from
treatment to back home."
Dr. Darren Adamson, MFT, PhD
Marriage and Family Therapist

Dr. Darren Adamson has been working as a change agent for over
20 years. His work with individuals and families as an employee
assistance and health promotion professional, in a private psychotherapy
practice, and in higher education has taught him that human beings
are capable of extraordinary change and growth. Although challenging,
with the appropriate support and treatment structure, every individual
and family is capable of resolving issues and creating healthy
patterns that lead to greater happiness and fulfillment. Dr. Adamson
has developed specific methods of intervening that provide a safe
and secure environment within which this type of change can occur.
Dr. Adamson assists clients to find the foundation of strength
that lies within them as the starting place for change. From this
place of strength, he assists clients to understand their struggles
and their pain so that they (the client and their support system)
can determine a different path. By empowering and encouraging clients
to find their own resolution and purposeful path, change is lasting
for the client and those with whom they interact.
Dr. Adamson earned masters and doctorate degrees from Brigham Young
University. He is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and
has practiced since 1987. Additional professional experience includes

in multigenerational families
